Description

Quarter Plate Tintype image of Corporal Benjamin Morse who served with the 3rd & 5th Michigan Infantry. While with the 3rd Michigan Infantry he was captured near Richmond, VA, July 1, 1862. He was then wounded at Groveton, VA, August 29, 1862. Again captured on May 2, 1863 at Chancellorsville, VA. Earned the Medal of Honor for action at Spotsylvania by capturing the colors of the 4th Georgia Light Artillery on May 12, 1864.

This image measures 3 1/4 x 4/ 1/4 inches and comes in a complete thermal plastic case. The image was also published in the January-February 1999 (Vol XX, No. 4) issue of Military Images, page 24.
