Charges and Specifications against Charles Winslow a Rebel Citizen

Charge I.

Being a Spy

Specification I.

In this, that on or about the 4th day of March 1865 the said Charles Winslow did enter the lines of the Union Army, then established at or near Cheraw S.C., dressed as a Rebel Citizen, and that on or about the night of March 5th he was arrested in our lines partially disguised in Federal Uniform, when he threatened to return to “his Army” at the first
opportunity, using words to that effect.
This at or near Cheraw S.C.

Charge II. Stealing

Specification II.

In this, that the said Charles Winslow did on or about the night of March 5th 1865, steal from a laborer of the Pioneer Corps of this Division a Uniform hat, this at or near Cheraw South Carolina.
