Mrs. Freeland,

Enclosed I send relief ticket. I have written to you a week ago, stating as my belief that your husband died at Richmond or Belle Island, whilst he was detained a prisoner there. This information I obtained through a person who was himself a prisoner there. Having been captured at the same time. I fear it but too true and regret it exceedingly.
