Atlanta, GA
September 15th 1864

In accordance with General Order No. 78, Department of the Cumberland 1863, all the Surplus Tentage of Company B, 57th Regiment Indiana Volunteers, accounting to three Sibley Tents. Three Sibley Tents and pins, were during my absence, taken down and shipped to Nashville for storage. No receipts being given.

I had been carrying this property along on my return as on hand supposing that it would be returned to the company in the fall.

I further certify that I have been unable to regain possession of same. Being informed, that said tentage was condemned by a Board of Survey convened in the City of Nashville, for the purpose of examining the same.

I, Lieutenant C. B. Gill, do solemnly swear that the tentage specified in the foregoing certificate was placed in the possession of Captain L. D. Myers, Assistant Quarter Master, U.S. Volunteers, and by him placed in storage with Captain Cox, Assistant Quarter Master at Nashville. That no receipts have ever been given for the same, nor could possession of them be obtained.
