I have the honor to tender my herewith my resignation as lieutenant and quartermaster of 7th Regiment Maryland Volunteer Infantry, feeling my incapacity to discharge its duties with satisfaction. I would therefore most respectfully ask an early acceptance of my resignation and an honorable discharge from the military service of the United States.
