28th Massachusetts Infantry - Irish Brigade

Description

Original Civil War accounting document that was used to request new military items used by the men of the 28th Massachusetts Infantry for the month of January 1864. It is on pre-printed paper with the blanks filled in using fine brown ink. It requisitions uniforms, hats, trousers and everything else from great coats down to bootees. They are also ordering a snare drum head and 2 ½ tents. It was received in Stevensburg, Virginia.

Document is signed by Colonel Richard Byrnes, 28th Massachusetts Infantry - Wounded at Cold Harbor and by Captain Walter S. Bailey, 28th Massachusetts Infantry - Wounded at Spotsylvania.
