Original letter written in period ink by Brevet Brigadier General Henry Augustus Hambright. Letter is written from Lancaster, PA and dated September 8, 1891. Hambright is sending his regrets to attend the 22nd reunion of the Army of the Cumberland.

During the War, Hambright severed with the 1st PA Infantry, 11th US Infantry and as Colonel of the 79th PA Infantry. He also served during the Mexican War.
