Coyne (70th New York Infantry - wounded & captured at Fair Oaks, Wounded at Gettysburg & Medal of Honor for action at Williamsburg, VA) to Lieutenant Colonel William H. Lounsbury (74th New York Infantry, Wounded at Chancellorsville). Coyne is writing a history of the Excelsior Brigade and is requesting a photograph of Lounsbury to be included in the book. All three letters are written in period ink and are signed by John N. Coyne.
