Ribbon and badge commemorating Civil War Nurse - Sarah Young, also known by the soldiers as "Aunt Becky." She volunteered as a nurse on June 9, 1862 and soon severed with the 109th New York Infantry. She later served at the general hospital of the 9th Army Corps. She served as an army nurse until the end of the war and later received a pension for her service. Aunt Becky died on April 6, 1908 and is buried at Des Moines, IA. Ribbon measures 2 1/4 x 7/8 inches and has original clasp.
