Sir,

Yours of the 12th is at hand; and in reply, I have to say that David H. Lease, was regularly admitted as a patient in this hospital, per orders of Medical Director of the Post. He is suffering from an attack of Remittent Fever, and is at present unfit for duty. But as soon as he becomes sufficiently recovered to bear transportation, he shall be reported for duty. Which will be in 2 or 3 days.
