Prisoner Camp Point Lookout
March 9, 1865

My dear wife,

I once more take the pleasure to write you a few lines to let you know that I ain’t right well but I am improving. And I hope when these few lines come to hand they may find you and the children all well. I can inform you that I received a letter from you dated the 8th of February, which I was very glad to hear that you were all well and getting along well. I want you to tell Brother Ivy Alligood to send me some money if please will oblige me very much. I hope the time will soon come when I can come home and see you all once more. So I must bring my letter to a close by saying I remain your humble husband until death.
