Original Civil War Confederate document written by Colonel Charles Read Collins of the 15th Virginia Cavalry to Captain Cyrus Harding (Company D, 15th VA Cav) concerning Confederate General Daniel Ruggles.

This note will be handed you by General Ruggles who wishes to cross to Freedland. Will you please see that he has facilities for crossing at Hayfield - and in case anything should be heard of any Yankees on that side will you see that he is notified.
