Dear Friend,
I wrote to you yesterday but as I was not very explicit about the books. I write you again. Will you be so kind as to send me Comstock’s Philosophy, the latest edition; Davis Arithmetic, high school; Webster’s Dictionary; one English Grammar, any kind; one quire of writing paper; one package of envelopes; fifty cents worth of postage stamps; one dozen steel pens; one gray drab hat, size 7¼ . you can pack them with Lieutenant Seabrook’s. As we are together. I am not so well satisfied here. As I was at Point Lookout. The water is very bad and fare is tolerably rough. I am suffering a good deal this morning with rheumatism in both my ankles. I suffered a great deal with it last winter at Johnson’s Island.
Write me soon.
Yours Respectfully,
Lieutenant T. O. Lockhart
