Original Civil War document dated October 14, 1864. Document is a Discharge for Private Truman A. Nichols of the 6th Vermont Infantry and signed by Captain Robert L. Orr of the 61st Pennsylvania Infantry. Orr received the Medal of Honor for his actions at the Battle of Five Forks, VA.
