To the Right Honorable The Secretary of War

Sir,

From information I learned through the newspaper, I find there are required six medical storekeepers for which office I beg to offer my services as one. I am at present Hospital Steward to the 28th Massachusetts Regiment Volunteers. In which capacity I have been since the origination of the Regiment. We are at present stationed on the above named Island. I can procure qualification of ability and of a good moral character and also have been for many years practicing pharmacy in all its branches. I am prepared for the examination and any part of it.

Our Doctors and officers will sign a satisfactory document of the above.
