Original Civil War document, war dated and written in period ink. Document is sent to Colonel Amor A. McKnight (Wounded at Fair Oaks and Killed at Chancellorsville) during the action at Williamsburg, VA. The 105th Pennsylvania Infantry is being moved from the picket line to a wheat field next to the 57th Pennsylvania Infantry. Document is signed by Captain Carroll H. Potter, who later received a brevet promotion to Brigadier General.
