Description
Original Civil War document directing Captain Cornelius W. Tolles to report to Headquarters, Alexandria, VA. Tulles was involved in the Board of Inquiry in the case of Colonel Dixon S. Miles. Tolles later served with the US Quartermaster Department and served as Chief Quartermaster for General Sheridan's Army of the Shenandoah when he was wounded by Mosby's men on October 112, 1864 near Middletown, VA. He died from these wounds on November 8, 1864.
