My Dear Sir,
Sometime ago, I sent an order to William Embry of Williamsport, by Perry Aughenbaugh of Hagerstown for some quartermaster stores, I had placed in his, William Embry’s warehouse for safe keeping, as I did not want to take them to Martinsburg, thinking it not a safe place for them. I understand from William Embry that you took all the goods away. Will you sign a receipt for all the goods and guns I had there. If so, I will come and see you and give you an invoice for the same. Write upon receipt of this as I expect to leave in a few days for Washington.
Yours respectfully,
Lieutenant James Resley
