Original Civil War certificate given to soldiers at the time of their discharge enabling them to receive their pay. This document certifies that Corporal Augustus Dunham served with the 3rd Potomac Home Brigade during the Civil War. Eck was discharged to accept a commission as a 2nd lieutenant and was later promoted to 1st lieutenant and captain.
