Mr. Samuel Colt,

I take the present opportunity of dropping you a few lines to see what I can get a pair of your naval revolver four-inch barrel for how much in Greenbacks it will take to get a pair of them. I would like very much to have a brace of them. Please drop me a line what you will send me them for.

Also the price of your six inch barrels. They are the best revolvers in the regiment. I had one but not having much use for it, I sold it.
