Dear Cousin,
Your kind and most welcome letter came to hand and found me in good health. I was happy to hear from you. To hear that you was still in the land of living and enjoying the pleasures of this life, if I am deprived of it. Well Cousin, I would like to see that wedding go off right well. But I don’t think you will have to wait long. For I will be at home in about 30 days from this time. Tell that girl you have picked out for me, if she is going to say yes, for to be ready and we will have two weddings whilst I am at home. And have a happy time of it. Well Cousin, I will close for this time. For I can tell you more when I get home than I can write. This leaves me well. Hoping it may find you the same. I remain as ever,
Your Cousin,
Micajah Bennett
