I have the honor to acknowledge receipt of your favor of 13th inst. asking information concerning Captain Henry Hescock of your battery. And in reply, I would stat that I have not, at present, any knowledge of his condition or whereabouts, but arrangements having been completed for the release and exchange of all our prisoners now confined in the south. Captain Hescock, if still alive, must soon be delivered to us and returned to his comrades in arms.

Lieutenant Joseph L. Follett was awarded the Medal of Honor for action at Perryville, KY.
From November, 1862 until the end of the war, Mulford was the "Flag of Truce" officer. He was responsible for bringing paroled Confederate soldiers to City Point, VA from Fort Delaware, Point Lookout and Fortress Monroe. In December 1864, he wrote the Secretary of War seeking aid for 10 ladies from Winchester, VA, who were prisoners.
