My Dearest Friends at Home:
I would have written to you before this time if I could have gotten some stamps. I have got some now and intend to use them often. I was admitted to this Hospital June 21. Sooner, perhaps, than I would have been had it not been for our regiment moving across the river. My health is now improving finely. The soreness on my lungs has disappeared. The diarrhea much better and my strength gaining. Yesterday my name was taken for a discharge which I shall expect to obtain in about two weeks. Meantime, I shall continue writing to you often and hope you will do the same favor to
Your affectionate Son and Brother,
B. Sunderlin
