Friend,
John W. Bookman,
It is with pleasure that I write to you to let you know something about the Company. There is not many here that you know. Eyde, Koch, Zeigler, Stricklers, Kelleys, Kaling, Brouse, Abogast, Edler, Pierce, Sumperman, Samuel, Hinkle, Seiple, Lease, Ryfers, Beaver, McLaughlin, Myers, Finley, Fisher, George Gilbert, Stonecypher, Roads. These are names of the old members present. I am not doing any duty no more than writing for the Captain (or clerking). We expect to have a Grand Review on next Tuesday. But I won’t be in for I can’t stand marching. John, I made out your descriptive list. Also Williams and Howards, Giltmoucher, Stonecypher, and Bonggs. I will send them today. They will get there as soon as this letter. You must excuse my short letter.
Doctor Youndt is gone to leave us in a few days. He has his papers all right.
No more but Remain Yours Ever,
Very Truly,
Ephraim E. Myers
P.S. My best respects to Boyd, William, Howard, Stonecypher, Geltmacher, and the rest of Company K if there are any more.
