In compliance with orders from Brigade Headquarters, I have the honor to report that I have no knowledge, information, or belief that any part of my command crossed or attempted to cross over to the enemies’ works on the opposite side of the Potomac last evening. And that no person had authority to do so from any officer in this regiment.
