I certify on honor that on the 9th day of September 1864, Company D of the 5th Battalion Infantry was formed of recruits from Depot, of which I was placed in command and took up the camp and garrison equipage annumerated below:

The following is the camp and garrison equipage so annumerated for which on invoices has been recorded, viz:

56 Fifty-six knapsacks
59 Fifty-nine haversacks
67 Sixty-seven canteens and straps
112 One hundred and twelve great coat straps
