Dear Brother,
I received your kind letter and was glad to hear that you had got home on a furlough. I wish that I was there to see you, but I am not and I guess that I shall not and shant by your talk, but William I do not want to come home as long as I am well, but I was sick when I wrote to come home. I can stand it as long as you can or any other person as long as I am well. Tell Father that I am well with the exception of a bad cold and hope that it will soon be over. Please send me the box and a pair of stockings. Tell all of my folks that I will stay and stand my chance. Tell them to send it right away. Direct to Suffolk, Va – 112
th Regiment – Company G, in care of Colonel Drake. Give my love to all of the folks and receive the same yourself. Good bye.
Tell me if Dave and Harmon gone back or not.
