Miss A. Knight,
I was thinking over old times and I happened to think of you. I used to know you in Lowell, MA and I am now in the Army and no wonder I think of old times. Perhaps you do not remember me but you would if you should see me. I have not seen nor heard from you for a long while. I do not know but what you are married before now. If you are I hope you will not be offended. I am well. I hope you are. I should like to ask you if you remember that Willey that used to work in the Mills with us. He was second hand. I should like to know what has become of him. He was a good boy and no mistake I should like to see all of those old hands that worked there.
If you know anything about J. T. Willey, I wish you would answer this for I should like to know and I do not think of any other ones to write but you know if you will be to the trouble to do it I will be gratefully obliged. I will not write any more now. I will write again if you think proper.
Yours in hast,
J. W. Francis
