Captain J. B. Baker
Dear Sir,
I thought I would write you a few lines to let you know we are all well and right side up, as far as I know. It snowed all day yesterday but for all that we had battalion drill for about half an hour. We had dress parade at sundown and fired a gun when all was dismissed and we had our supper of pudding and coffee and then for a game of euchre. Lieutenant Nichols went down to the theatre and took W. L. Martin and F. E. Morrison along and they had a gay time. There is no news that I know except we are to be paid in two or three days and so I will close. Excuse this scribbling.

Get some of the boys in Wilson if you can.
